Managed assistance
Define the help your workload needs
Discuss an explicit management scope for server and hosting operations instead of assuming every task is included.
- Scope-first consultation
- Shared responsibility
- Change-aware operations
Managed means a documented boundary
A managed service is useful only when both sides understand the work included. Operating-system maintenance, control-panel help, monitoring, migrations, backups, application debugging, and emergency changes are separate activities with different access and risk.
Managed support options are not automatically included with every HostGanga plan. Availability, response expectations, access requirements, and commercial terms must be discussed and confirmed for the selected service.
Environment review
Discuss the operating system, control panel, services, access model, dependencies, and current pain points.
Maintenance planning
Define which updates, routine checks, and change windows may be handled, subject to confirmed scope.
Incident hand-off
Agree on the evidence, authorization, contacts, and escalation path needed when an incident occurs.
Separate platform work from application work
Server administration may cover the operating system and common services, while application work can involve custom code, themes, plugins, query design, deployment pipelines, and business logic. One does not automatically include the other.
Before requesting management, list the tasks you want handled and the systems involved. Include update constraints, acceptable maintenance periods, backup ownership, administrator contacts, and any vendor dependencies.
Prepare for safe assistance
Use named accounts and least-privilege access where the platform supports them. Maintain a change record, identify a rollback path, and preserve a current independent backup before significant work. Sensitive credentials should be exchanged only through an approved secure method.
For migrations, describe the source environment, data size, DNS control, mail flow, dynamic content, and acceptable cutover window. Feasibility and exact migration scope should be confirmed before scheduling.
Management, migration, monitoring, backup, and application assistance vary by product and agreed scope. Confirm included work and charges before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Is managed support included with every plan?
No such assumption should be made. Included tasks and optional assistance depend on the service and must be confirmed before purchase.
Does managed support include website development?
Custom code, design, themes, plugins, and business logic are distinct from infrastructure management unless a written scope explicitly says otherwise.
Can HostGanga help with a migration?
Migration assistance may be discussable. Provide the source stack, size, dependencies, mail requirements, DNS access, and timeline so feasibility and scope can be confirmed.
